Work Packages

WP1: Elevating the scientific excellence of the VIVENDI team through joint research focus on micellization of EA using membrane micromixer

Lead: Tatjana Trtić-Petrović

At the heart of our project lies a clear mission: to boost the research capacity of the VIVENDI team through dynamic collaboration with a distinguished expert from the diaspora. Together, we are developing an innovative, eco-friendly process for isolating valuable bioactive compounds (BACs) from raspberry pomace—a nutrient-rich byproduct often overlooked. These compounds will then be encapsulated with surface-active agents, with both processes powered by cutting-edge membrane micromixer technology. This joint research effort is set to deliver a novel, sustainable solution with real-world applications in the creation of functional foods, opening new horizons for scientific excellence and innovation.

WP2: Fabrication of polymer-based micelles embedded with PAR using membrane micromixer

Lead: Nada Ćujić Nikolić

Our aim is to develop an efficient and innovative process for encapsulating parthenolide (major active compound of Tanacetum) into a polymer matrix using a micromixer device. To further purify and enrich the resulting micelles, we will employ an aqueous biphasic system based on an ionic liquid and polymer. Through this joint research effort, we anticipate not only high-impact scientific publications but also the strengthening of international collaboration—particularly within the EU research community—thereby enhancing our potential for future participation in European networking and research initiatives.

Work package 2

WP3: Characterization of the obtained micelles by state-of-the-art equipment

Lead: Ksenija Kumrić

WP3 is dedicated to the comprehensive characterization of all key compounds and processes developed in WP1 and WP2. The focus is on understanding the solubility, composition, antioxidant activity, and stability of bioactive compounds and their encapsulated forms. By applying advanced analytical techniques, this work package ensures the development of high-quality, stable, and effective microencapsulated bioactive compounds, paving the way for their application in functional food and other health-promoting products.

Wp3

WP4: Training a new generation of highly-skilled researchers capable of development a new green methods for biomass valorization

Lead: Goran Vladisavljević

This work package is designed to strengthen collaboration between VIVENDI researchers and our leading expert from the diaspora, fostering high-level networking at the European level. Through a series of short-term staff exchanges, expert visits, and focused training sessions—both on-site and virtual—the project will empower a new generation of researchers. Participants will gain valuable experience working with cutting-edge equipment for micelle preparation and characterization, enhancing their skills, creativity, and confidence in tackling frontier scientific challenges. This hands-on training will not only build internal expertise within the VIVENDI team but also set the foundation for long-term scientific excellence and innovation.

Wp4

WP5: Dissemination and communication

Lead: Nada Ćujić Nikolić and Dajana Lazarević

This work package is dedicated to sharing the VIVENDI project’s vision, activities, and achievements with both the scientific community and the wider public. Dissemination efforts will unfold across two strategic fronts.
On one side, we will focus on scientific outreach—publishing our findings in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at international conferences, and participating in academic seminars to contribute to cutting-edge research discussions. On the other, we will engage a broader audience by showcasing our innovative technologies and research breakthroughs through media outreach, public presentations, and digital platforms. This dual approach ensures the project’s impact extends beyond the lab—sparking dialogue, inspiring innovation, and opening doors to future collaborations.

Wp5

WP6: Project management

Lead: Tatjana Trtić-Petrović

This work package ensures the smooth and efficient execution of all VIVENDI project activities by providing strong coordination, oversight, and support across every stage of the project. Its primary aim is to manage and align all technical, research, and financial aspects, guaranteeing that each work package progresses on time, within budget, and in accordance with high-quality standards. Project management also involves organizing regular workshops, webinars, and seminars to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange, while closely monitoring the dissemination of results. The strategic coordination ensures timely delivery of all outputs and supports the overall success of the VIVENDI initiative.
