Dr Tatjana Trtić Petrović Profile Photo

is a passionate scientist and a leader in green chemistry.

She is a Principal Research Fellow at the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences (VINS), where she leads the Separation Chemistry Group with dedication and vision. She also heads the research theme “Developing Green Solvents and Processes,” pushing the boundaries of sustainable chemistry both regionally and internationally.

Beyond the lab, Dr. Trtić-Petrović is a devoted mentor, passionately guiding Ph.D. students through the complexities of scientific research with a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility. She not only imparts knowledge but also inspires critical thinking, nurtures scientific curiosity, and supports the next generation of researchers in developing sustainable, impactful dissertations.

Her work is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach within both national and international research environments. Her scientific focus lies in developing green separation methods by replacing traditional organic solvents with ionic liquids and eutectic solvents, and minimizing solvent use through microporous membrane technologies. She is not only a research leader—she is a bridge builder between science and sustainability, theory and practice, local and global collaboration.
